As a Frontend, Lua/C++ Software Engineer on the Economy team, you will increase the innovation of commerce products in the Metaverse. You will create scalable UI components and tools within the Roblox Game Engine for Roblox developers to customize the economic activity for their games, including subscriptions, advertising and virtual purchasing. The Frontend, Lua/C++ Software Engineer will also integrate the Roblox platform with several different payment providers, supporting millions of real-money transactions, daily. If you have experience creating inspiring, easily maintained code, you'll be right at home within our skilled growing team. You will report to the Engineering Manager on the Economy team.
You Are:
- Experienced: You have experience as a front-end or mobile apps engineer working on complex user interfaces. You have experience working on large-scale consumer applications, are comfortable integrating basic iOS/Android native functionality, and hold a BS in Computer Science or above.
- Fascinated by UX: You love to build delightful user experiences for millions of users. You care about the little details that no one notices are there.
- Curious: You are excited to work on novel solutions across UI platforms inspired by React and powered by the Roblox game engine. Learning new languages and technologies is exciting to you.
- Analytical: You love to understand how your users interact with your interface and use the findings to maximize their impact.
- Versatile: You can shift focus and enjoy working outside your comfort zone.
- Team-player: You work with and inspire others around you, leading projects for the greater team.
You Will:
- Build the best features used by hundreds of millions of users.
- Work with Product and Design to ensure the product embodies the shared vision.
- Use best programming practices, optimizing code to be performant.
- Write unit, integration, and automated UI tests.
- Take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle.
- Collaborate with numerous teams to build the world's best application.
- Write code in a myriad of languages including Lua, C++, Objective-C and Java.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$150,120 — $189,110 USD
