Job Description
Main Objective
As part of the Chinese Ops team, the Content Manager works closely with team members within the Chinese publishing team, as well as productions teams from around the world, responsible for organizing and managing game localization in Simplified Chinese, during the pre-launch and post-launch of the game.
Candidates will be responsible for testing, identifying, recording and suggesting fixes to potential bugs relating to language, implementation, compliance and political issues.
Missions
- Work together with the China Operation team and report to the localization manager, making sure every project fulfills China publishing requirements, and ensuring the proper application of content and quality publishing guidelines in various projects;
- Be the very first person to reviewing the scripts and game text, and attending all the recording sessions, taking the quality of Simplified Chinese localization to the next level;
- Gather info about the game scope and content from the localization perspective and, together with the development team, localization managers, set the linguistic guidelines of the project including the censorship adaptations required for Chinese versions;
- Play and analyze the game in Chinese language, making sure its text and audio is of high quality. Apply necessary changes so that the game does not lose its fidelity to the English version through the course of censorship; Access cultural appropriateness and check the Chinese politically sensitive content
- Help China Localization Manager evaluate the localization process and quality in order to draw the lessons learned and identify areas of improvement. Share the lessons learned with all parties involved (share the experience of Chinese censorship and Chinese culturization, or Chinalization;
- Verify linguistic accuracy of in-game test and check for typographical, grammatical and punctuation errors.
- Verify cosmetic integrity of in-game text and ensure that all text is correctly displayed.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- An avid player of Ubisoft games
- Strong interest in movies, fictions, and novels.
- Degree in Literature, Foreign Languages, or Film-directing is a plus
- At least 3 years of work experience, preferably in a multinational company
- Good knowledge of video game industry
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
- Analytical thinking and sound judgement
- Good capability of Chinese and English, Solid Chinese writing skill (important)
- Proficient MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint) and Internet literacy – familiarity with screenwriting software is a plus
- Curious, able to identify opportunities, seek improvement and drive change
