Localization Editor (German)

We are looking for an Localization Editor (DE) works closely with the internal Localization and QA team, external Localization vendors and our development studio. The Localization Editor ensures that localized in-game assets always meet high-quality AAA standards, coordinates with various teams to meet Localization milestones, signs off on feature Localization, and shares feedback, ideas, and suggestions to consistently improve the Localization processes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide detail-orientated review of all localized content in-game and out-of-game for quality, consistency, and correct understanding of mechanics, story, and lore
- Create and maintain glossaries and style guides, addressing any inconsistencies or mistakes
- Ensure high quality across all localization assets including glossary, style guides, and localized content that meets or exceeds established requirements
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors, including regular terminology and workflow discussions.
- Translate and localize in-game and out-of-game text as needed
- Fix linguistic bugs in-game and report source language bugs as needed
- Provide linguistic feedback and guidance to related stakeholders
- Adhere to linguistic, cultural, and industry standards for all translation requests
- Handle other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics (or related fields) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 2+ years’ translation, editing, writing or relevant experience in a professional setting
- 1+ years of experience in game or software development/localization/QA
- Fluent in German and full professional proficiency in English
- Excellent German spelling and grammar
- Excellent writing/editing skills
- Experience in game or software Localization/QA
- Proficiency with CAT tools, such as MemoQ
- Knowledge of localization tools, processes, and software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality
- Display sensitivity and empathy when working across cultures
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment within deadlines
- Intimate knowledge of NCSOFT products
The salary range for this position in the US is $60,000 - $90,000 per year, plus annual bonus potential. Please note that the salary shown is a general guideline only. We take into consideration the geography in which you live and your experience and qualifications when determining final salary.
