Role: Localisation QA Tester
Contract type: 6 month Fixed-Term Contract
Role overview:
We are looking for a Localisation QA who is a highly efficient and motivated individual to work across several cross-functional teams. The Localisation QA Tester will be using devices to test a wide range of internally and externally facing applications and tools. The tester is an individual with keen attention to detail abilities and superb grammar skills.
- Knowledgeable about your native language's nuances, colloquialisms, verb/noun functions, accents, etc
- Proficient command of your language and can articulate ideas to the local market of your language
- Have a knack for creativity, a background in game, marketing, etc
- You must be dynamic and vibrant, passionate about your language and local market and be willing to learn new skills
A speaker of native or native level English plus one of the following languages:
- Arabic, Chinese (Simplified, Traditional Hong Kong, Traditional Taiwan), Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, French (CA and FR), German, Greek, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian, Spanish (Spain and LatAM), Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese(Preferred), Turkish
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing localisation quality assurance for our products
- Conduct functionality & features testing on localised products
- Identifying Localisation problems with software functions and features
- Documenting software localisation bugs and defects
- Maintain completed vendor records and analytical testing report
- Communicate with L10n QA lead and LPMs for localisation issues
What we’re looking for:
- BA/BS degree in computer science Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Quality Control and Quality Assurance background and/or knowledge
- Experience with Black-box/Grey-box, automation testing
- Strong linguistic skills, with experience in either of the following subject areas: Quality Checks, Editing, Quality Assurance, Translation, Localisation and/or Interpretation
- Must be able to follow glossaries (given in work) and to keep consistency throughout the product
- Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in your native language
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English required
- Be a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in the target language; can research and resolve linguistic questions
- Deductive reasoning, attention to detail, problem-solving, flexibility and the ability to speak and write in a clear and concise manner
- Collaborative; enjoys teamwork in a multicultural environment
- Flexible and willing to learn about new tools and different procedures
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence tools
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical field or testing certification
- Experience with operations or in the video, media, or entertainment industry, with a focus on gaming
- Expertise in testing game console apps for devices
- Expertise in Mobile devices and Web Application testing
- Deep knowledge of JIRA and other project management and bug tracking tools
- Experience with a programming language (C#, Java, Python, etc.)
