Role Overview:
The Localisation Test Manager is responsible for maintaining outstanding relationships with PlayStation Studios and other internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the Localisation Testing services provided by PlayStation QA meet their requirements.
They will work with other Test Managers and Service Owners to continue to develop, and roll out, global localisation test strategies and processes, and act as Global or Regional Service Owner (where assigned) to understand and represent localisation testing requirements and drive service improvement efforts.
The Localisation Test Manager is responsible for the fiscal management of the Localisation Testing Services on assigned titles, management for operational budgets of the Localisation Test functions, and collaborating with the Resource Manager and Vendor Management for efficient and effective resource planning.
The Localisation Test Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support to the Localisation Test Services teams, monitoring and managing relevant employee performance, ensuring performance is in accordance with the expected service levels.
What you’ll be doing:
Service Delivery
- Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with assigned PlayStation Studios customers to ensure thorough understanding of service requirements and anticipate future needs
- Accountable for meeting studio expectations and be the point of escalation for major title issues and risks
Service Owner
- Act as Global or Regional Service Owner (where assigned) - Develop and document strategies and goals of the service, including resourcing and process options, ensuring pertinent information and progress is communicated to stakeholders as appropriate
- Work with other Test Managers to understand and translate customer requirements into activities, measures or service components that will ensure that WWS QA can meet those requirements
Staff Development and Management
- Provide both regional and global team leadership
- Manage development and growth of staff by coaching, giving constructive feedback, setting career goals, developing learning and succession plans
Operational and Functional Management
- Fiscal management of the Localisation Testing Services in assigned titles for the full fiscal year and regular reforecasts, monitoring and escalating budget concerns as necessary
- Collaborate with Resource Manager and Vendor Management for efficient and effective resource planning and staffing
What we are looking for:
Qualifications & Experience - Essential
- Experience in team management
- Software development (SDLC) practices & nomenclature
- Experience with budgetary oversight and planning
- Deep understanding of Localisation quality assurance techniques, frameworks and methodologies
- Interactive media/games industry experience
Qualifications & Experience - Desirable
- Proven tenure in a team management role
- College/Graduate Degree in a related field
- Cross-cultural/global working experience
- Working within a matrix structure
- Testing as a Service Management and/or Operational Experience
- Experience working with multi-platform products
- Project management certification (PMP, etc.)
- ITIL Foundation certification (or higher)
- Continuous Service Improvement certification (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL CSI)
