Wordscapes is one of the most popular mobile games ever made. It has an audience of over 4 million daily active users. We are looking for talented, curious engineers to join our product team. Wordscapes is built on a custom game engine that allows for a lot of flexibility but also means we fully own every technical decision we make. We run weekly live events, make frequent updates and fixes to the game outside of our regular feature releases, and often need to create tools to assist our QA and customer service teams. If getting to work on the best mobile word game sounds like an exciting challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers, artists, producers, QA, and customer support
- Work with engineers and the team to manage tasks and schedules
- Participate in an agile environment, keeping the team updated with your progress
- Help support Wordscapes live events and content updates
- Work closely with QA to resolve long-standing bugs and also develop tools and processes for making testing more efficient and reliable
- Communicate with our Central Tech team to stay on top of the latest 3rd party SDKs we should be using
- Handle maintenance updates to Wordscapes and other smaller games built with the same technology
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in software development, preferably on mobile platforms
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and architecture
- Understanding of at least one of the following: Java, Objective-C, C++, and JavaScript
Desired Qualities:
- Familiarity with Unity, Cocos2DX, or other common game engines
