Job Description
The Information Technology Department of Ubisoft Romania is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to be responsible for the health and operations of our Linux servers. You will manage and support a suite of games and services, ensuring the target availability of said environments and providing high-quality technical/functional support to internal clients.
You will also contribute to the execution of various projects and help improve the infrastructure of our portfolio. Moreover, you will be exposed to a complex architecture running on multiple continents, working with a global team where we promote innovation and encourage people to come up with new ideas and transform them in the future of our solution.
Your profile:
- Experience in Linux systems administration in a 300+ servers environment;
- Good knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby, Ansible etc.);
- Good Knowledge of Linux Server administration (CentOS/Red Hat) is important;
- Cloud experience Amazon Web Services(AWS)/OpenStack;
- Configuration Management knowledge Chef/Ansible;
- Good knowledge of Internet technologies and concepts such as DNS, routing protocols, TCP and UDP and higher level protocols such as HTTP, SMTP and FTP is important;
- General knowledge of Cisco network equipment, routers, switches, firewall, load balancer, proxy, and others;
- Knowledge of Zabbix monitoring tool, Elastic Stack (Kibana), web server (Nginx), MySQL and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, couchbaseDB) and Windows Server are considered a plus;
- Nice to have: knowledge of DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm, gitlab-ci/cd etc;
- University graduate - University degree in a relevant field (i.e. Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics);
- Good English Skills.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the proper daily operations that help support our portfolio of games and services;
- Install, maintain and upgrade Linux server hardware and software;
- Monitor system events to ensure health, maximum system availability and service quality;
- Participate to the backups and restoration of Linux systems;
- Advanced troubleshooting of emergency situations on the network related to our servers;
- Perform system & application patching and upgrading of equipment firmware;
- Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures related to the Linux platform;
- Participate to the definition of standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics as directed;
- Participate in various projects that aim to improve our services;
- Implement scripts/tools to automate operation related processes;
- Find performance bottlenecks;
- Verify that security and performance standards are met;
- Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical design and standards;
- Answer user’s query and service requests;
- Carry out all other related tasks.
