Job Description
Join the team responsible for developing the game server infrastructure, where performance, scalability and reliability will be at the heart of your tasks.
What is it like to be Linux Sys Admin at Ludia?
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code tools to manage an infrastructure with over a thousand Linux servers and Kubernetes nodes;
- Set up (Puppet, Terraform), monitor (Sensu), protect (Vault), measure (Grafana) and save the history (Elastic Search) to keep everything running and secure;
- Automate/program repetitive, error-prone and time-consuming tasks using a variety of programming languages;
- Conceptualize and implement robust and scalable solutions in an environment with millions of users;
- Work with development teams to deploy software and define best practices;
- Maintain large relational (MySQL) and non-relational databases.
Qualifications
You must have:
- College degree in computer science, system administration or equivalent experience
- Affinity for open source code software
- Expert knowledge of Linux (CentOS)
- Expert knowledge of MySQL 5.x
- Experience with virtualization systems (KVM), containers (Docker, Kuberetes) and cloud solutions (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Knowledge in scripting (Bash) and programming (Python and/or Ruby)
- Ability to work under pressure and in critical situations while keeping calm
- Flexibility of schedules - rotation of duty
- Excellent communication skills in French and English are imperative
Even more interesting if you have
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Nagios, Kibana, ...)
- Knowledge of configuration management software (Puppet, Ansible) and infrastructure management (Terraform, Cloudformation)
- Level-2 networking knowledge, level-3 routing, VPN and firewalls
- Knowledge of backup infrastructure (Baccula, Bareos)
- Work experience in a video game environment
Title
The use of the term engineer in this job must be interpreted as including similar positions outside of Canada where the title of the corresponding position is Systems Engineer, but it cannot be construed as the title of the position at Ludia, in accordance with the law in Canada and Quebec, where only certified engineers are legally authorized to use the title of engineer.
