Blizzard Animation’s TD team is charged with supporting the production of our award-winning cinematics, animated shorts, and other linear media content. TD team members are embedded with the production teams they support and act as a first point of contact when problems arise. The team also supports and develops tools and workflows to increase their production team’s efficiency and provide new capabilities. Our overall goal is to ensure that production artists are working effectively and efficiently on a wide variety of content.
This position will be based in our Irvine office onsite, however we are open to remoter workers as well.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of techniques and technologies relating to CG pipelines and workflow
- Strong understanding of the CG production process, from asset creation to final compositing
- Excellent working knowledge of offline production rendering (RenderMan, Redshift)
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Strong working knowledge of Katana
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience developing Python tools, and implementing process improvements in a CG production environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong desire to function in a technical support role
Highly Desirable Qualifications
- RenderMan development and support experience
- Katana production lighting experience, scripting, and API knowledge
- Shader development experience (RenderMan, OSL)
- General TD experience
