You’ll be bringing your experience and knowledge to our robust art department working on exciting projects

This is a contract position for 12 months.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will have a passion for Lighting, for working with other disciplines to make a difference, a passion for solving difficult problems, find solutions and a drive for just making the best games possible.
  • Working with the Art and Tech art disciplines, you will be involved defining lighting workflow and work collaboratively, while always trying to push for the next level. RnD and implementation would be your first priority task.
  • Creating high quality artistic and functional lighting for environments and optionally for cinematics
  • Working with the Art Director close to realize the project’s artistic vision and find solutions for imaginations
  • Work close with other colleagues like Artists, Designers and Programmers to ensure the lighting needs are met and contribute to their development
  • Join forces with VFX Artist to achieve the best final mood of a level
  • Ensuring any lighting content created within established budgets.
  • Ability to optimize the work without a loss in quality
  • Keeping in mind the technical requirements and limitations

Requirements

  • Professional experience as a dedicated lighting artist and completed at least one shipped title
  • Experience with PBR shading.
  • Have to know how to apply in game light and materials behaving based on real world
  • Strong knowledge of lighting, grading, colour theory and image composition proven with a strong portfolio
  • Work with both artistic hand placed lighting as well as with more technical and automatic approaches
  • Strong Unreal editor knowledge is a must
  • Keeping up to date with games’ cutting-edge techniques
  • Experience with Unreal Engine’s blueprints and Lumen, Ray Tracing
  • Experience with 3dsmax/Maya and Photoshop preferred
  • Keen understanding of cinematography

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience with VFX
  • Experience with Houdini or other real-time particle system
  • Experience in cinematic production

Other Information

This is a 12 month subcontract, the successful applicant will be responsible for their own local fees (Tax, NI etc), hardware and licences will not be supplied.
