Licensing Acquisition Manager - New Sci-Fi FPS IP

This is an excellent opportunity to join our talented Licensing Team at our studio in Horsham, based in the heart of Sussex.
In this role, you will report into the Senior Licensing Manager focussing on securing compelling licensed content for an exciting new video game experience. You will have responsibility for identifying, sourcing, and negotiating with key licensors. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of key licensor relationships.
As the ‘go-to’ person for critical aspects of the studio – licensor relationship, this role is an exciting and invigorating challenge for someone looking to develop and manage, a world class portfolio of licensor relationships. The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated and will possess a passion for brands, product innovation and business development.
Key Responsibilities
As Licensing Acquisition Manager, you will be working in collaboration with other teams, most notably the Creative Director, Brand and Development team. You will be responsible for delivering on the agreed strategy, and vision, for our licensing relationships across all areas of the game, marketing assets, material, and live events.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Be responsible for securing mutually beneficial relationships with a significant number of well-known Brands, IP and recognisable content
- Successfully identify suitable licensing partners across multiple product categories within the UK, US and internationally
- Work closely with IP partner brands to develop strong and sustainable relationships with global and regional IP holders
- Identify existing IP’s, and Brands, that resonate strongly with target audience and spot upcoming trends
- Ensure there is a continual pipeline of IP to support production with new launches, refreshes and updates
- Work with SEGA legal team to ensure the deal approval process, contract management as well as the tracking of licensing budget expenditure are all executed smoothly throughout the project
- Have the ability to present and sell-in creative concepts and execution ideas with internal and external stakeholders
- Attend trade fairs and other regional meetings with existing and prospective licensing partners
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
- Licensing experience ideally in a similar business or entertainment related industry
- A deep understanding of the content licensing process – both licensing IN and OUT
- Excellent negotiation skills
- An ability to be agile to capitalise, and identify new opportunities and target partners
- Ability to work with a variety of work groups, both internally and externally
- Resilient and nimble in an ever-changing environment
- Enthusiastic, organised, and self-motivated
- Pragmatic – you understand making games is complex, and you can weigh up the priorities when everything is high priority
- The ability to cope well under pressure working to strict deadlines

- Used to working in a process driven environment
- Experience working in games or entertainment related industry
