Job Description
Red Storm Entertainment is looking for a player-centric Level Designer to work on our next AAA title. You will work closely with a team of seasoned and very talented developers to make the game vision a reality. If you are passionate about games and game development, have the ability to iterate and refine your work rapidly, and actively participate in bringing the game design to life this may be the job for you!
Responsibilities:
- Create immersive environments that support and enhance the core mechanics and creative vision of the game.
- Closely collaborate with Level Artists, Technical and Game Designers to build memorable game experiences
- Work with other disciplines to set up and maintain the scripting entities in such a way to make those gameplay elements shine (NPCs, Sound, Navigation, Spawning, Combat, etc.).
- Conduct gameplay evaluations with the team, providing feedback and suggestions to help fine-tune and improve the game.
- Locate and fix bugs in both your own and your colleagues' work
Qualifications
- 2 years of game development experience and significant contribution to a AAA title that shipped.
- Experience building and iterating upon levels for first- or third-person 3D games.
- Ability to quickly learn content pipeline and toolset and become a subject matter expert.
- Experience with 3D engines (Unity, Unreal, Source Engine, or others), design production tools, and level-editing pipelines.
- Experience with level scripting.
- Design pipeline/asset optimization skills.
- Experience conducting playtests autonomously.
- Excellent analysis, problem-solving, and rapid deployment of effective solutions
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work
- Effective communicator, both verbally and written
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
- Able to travel international
