Level Art Lead

Job Overview

Wargaming Prague is expanding their development studio and we’re looking for a Level Art Lead to work on new and exciting features for our groundbreaking MMO title World of Tanks, which has over 100 million players worldwide.

As the Level Art Lead, you’ll be responsible for guiding the group of level artists and creating immersive environments and realistic maps, where epic tank battles take place. You’ll also set up the lighting and mood for locations and take care of visual storytelling.

To be successful, you’ll need to have proven industry experience in level art with good understanding of shape, form, color, composition, and lighting in game environments, combined with a passion for game development and enjoy working in a collaborative multicultural environment.

Reports To

The Level Art Lead will report to the Art Manager.

What will you do?

• You’ll will lead a small team of level artists and work with them hands on every day.
• You’ll be responsible for creating a high-quality maps and hangars for World of Tanks.
• You’ll work with designers and art director to ensure that environments match budgets, quality bar and vision.
• You will create immersive lighting, atmosphere and mood of the map.
• You will be responsible for asset lists and corresponding greyboxes as a part of level decomposition

What are we looking for?

• 3+ years as Senior Level Artist or similar position in game industry.
• Experience in setting up immersive environment using texturing, propping and lighting.
• Experience working in level editors and tools, such as Unreal Engine 4, CryEngine or similar.
• Good communication skills and fluent English.
• Strong internal motivation.
• Leadership experience

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Speed or Matte Painting sketching.
• Advanced greyboxing experience: sketching the form, color and light in 3D space.
