We are looking for an enthusiastic Legal Assistant in our offices in Frisco, Texas supporting Gearbox’s growing legal team. You will need critical thinking skills and strong business acumen, and be extremely organized, great at multitasking, proactive and willing to engage in typical administrative duties as well as more complex project work. You will provide day-to-day administrative, clerical and paralegal services at a dynamic entertainment company.
Responsibilities:
- Support Gearbox attorneys handling matters related to the development, publishing, marketing and licensing of videogames, as well as other corporate matters
- Assist with the contract management and execution process
- Perform clerical activities that require accuracy and strong organizational skills, including maintaining contract and document databases, as well as tracking departmental deadlines and key milestones
- Manage workflows for internal legal requests via Jira, email, and Microsoft Teams
- Serve as part of the legal team helping Gearbox create the most entertaining and creative products in the most efficient way possible
Qualifications:
- College degree
- At least 2 years prior experience (preferably in-house, but applicants with law firm experience are welcome)
- Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills and an ability to work independently
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, and able to quickly learn new software applications
- Strong administrative problem-solving skills and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and thorough follow-up
Bonus Points For:
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the videogame industry
- Experience with electronic document signing (e.g., Adobe Sign, DocuSign)
- Paralegal certification
