Learning and Development Specialist

“Riot Denewbification,” or “Denewb” for short, is Riot’s answer to new hire orientation, and is a program offered by Riot’s central Learning and Development team. Denewb seeks to provide an excellent onboarding for new Rioters by helping them get settled, building connections with Rioters across the organization, and sharing Riot’s values and through stories and discussions.
As a Specialist on our Learning and Development team, you will support new Rioters as they begin their own journeys with Riot. You will help determine what great learning looks like as you foster a welcoming environment, keep the show running, and lead by example embodying Riot’s values, mission , and strategy. You can’t do it alone, though, so your relationship building skills will be essential in collaborating with speakers, hiring managers, and recruiting partners around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Provide logistics support for the Denewb program, including LAX Denewb, participating in activities, organizing game times, coordinating off-sites, and partnering with the Denewb Facilitator to ensure the program runs smoothly
- Coordinate schedules of Rioters involved in the program (speakers, hiring managers , etc. ), including Rioters from international offices around the globe, and maintain pre-work/classroom resources to ensure Rioters receive a high-quality experience
- Partner with Recruiting, both in Central and internationally, monitoring Denewb enrollment, making adjustments, and ensuring classes are filled
- Monitor all Denewb social channels, and provide clear communication
- Shadow and develop as a facilitator, eventually acting as a back-up to the Denewb Facilitator, and facilitating future onboarding programs, including: off- cadence onboarding, contractor onboarding, Intern Denewb, team/discipline/product onboarding
- Support and transition Rioters into their new work home to improve onboarding onto a Rioter’s team and increase efficiency as they start their work.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in a coordinator role supporting programs or large teams
- Must have experience presenting to large groups or delivering training
- Background in building relationships through collaboration
- Ability to work through challenges as they occur, and understand how to navigate high-stress situations calmly
- Be service oriented and feeling comfortable fielding questions from a wide audience
- Experience using G-Suite tools and Slack
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in an HR support role
