On being a Learning and Development Manager at Ubisoft Toronto
The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of the talent development strategy within the studio in order to guide the evolution of the production skills.
Type of Position: Permanent, full-time.
The daily life of a Learning and Development Manager at Ubisoft Toronto
- Align talent development and the studio’s strategic needs;
- Implement new learning programs to foster the growth and evolution of the studio;
- Ensure the relevance of the various development means and their alignment with employees’ needs (training, e-learning, development plan, conferences, succession planning etc.);
- Manage the knowledge and community sharing programs to foster expertise sharing and supporting job community improvement such as role/responsibilities/skills required etc.;
- Lead the process to support organizational challenges within the studio in order to optimize productivity and the development of key talents;
- Participate to the collaboration between the various HR services and the talent development team in order to ensure the coherence of the planned and taken actions;
- Supervise, assess and coach talent development team members under his/her responsibility;
- Be a point of contact for HR teams at headquarters;
- Manage the budget of the working units;
- Carry out all other related tasks.
What it takes to make it
- University degree in a relevant field or relevant technical training.
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in talent development, organizational development or any other relevant experience.
- Games experience with a focus on production pipelines
- Experience working with directors and producers
- Passionate about the development and evolution of talent
- Ability to anticipate and be innovative
- Leadership skills
