Learning Experience Designer - Metaverse (VR)

ForwardXP is expanding our development team to create cutting-edge Metaverse experiences (AR/VR/XR). Founded in 2016, you will be joining a veteran team of software engineers, designers, artists and other senior leadership with decades of experience who have shipped some of the bestselling titles in history including games in the DOOM, QUAKE, Wolfenstein, RAGE, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike and Left 4 Dead series.
COVID-19 Update: ForwardXP is based in Dallas, Texas, and we have transitioned to a mostly work-from-home model during this time. We are always eager to bring more people into the thriving Dallas game development scene, and Dallas is the preferred location for this position. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As our Metaverse business continues to grow, we are looking for a talented Learning Experience Designer to join the team. In this role you'll be turning reference images/videos and learning objectives into storyboards and scripts for development in VR. The ideal candidate is someone that fits our collaborative culture, enjoys solving problems, has a strong interactive learning background and loves VR.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and developers
- Build storyboards and scripts that accurately reflect the learning objectives and reference, while incorporating strong interactivity
- Produce and maintain design documentation
- Collaborate with all development disciplines to drive learning modules through the iterative process
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of interactive instructional design experience or equivalent education
- Degree in related field (instructional design, education, user experience design)
- Experience with emerging tech trends for content creation (e.g. gamification, xAPI, data driven design)
- Creative with a great sense for user interactions and learning
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to take a task and run with it, working with a cross-discipline team to execute on a vision
- Good time management skills and actively collaborative attitude

- Experience working with Virtual Reality
- Experience designing for game-based learning
- Experience working with the Unreal Engine 4 editor
- Knowledge of usability, UX and UI design principles and best practices
