Lead iOS Developer (Swift)

As Lead iOS Engineer, reporting to the CTO, you will plan and deliver technical improvements and new features following goals set by the Product Manager as part of a cross-functional team. Natural communicator, you will also lead, manage and develop a team of engineers to ensure they contribute to the success of Drest.
This role is open for remote working internationally, as either permanent or contractor.
Requirements
- Write magnificent code in a collaborative environment using proven design patterns and experiential wisdom
- Make quick, reasonable estimates for new feature work, as well as propose alternatives to save on implementation time
- Deliver code and review PRs in a consistent manner.
- Build, lead, grow, mentor and manage a team of 3 engineers focused on executing the vision set by product, game design and UI/UX
- Collaborate and communicate with Product, Production, Design and other teams to define and build features, unblocking the path for your engineers
- Define and execute development plans in collaboration with product
- Manage the engineering workload and support the Product Manager in planning and scheduling
- Assess and recruit engineering talent in partnership with the relevant stakeholders
- Identify and resolve issues in collaboration with other disciplines
- Evaluate the output of your team, aim for constant improvements
- Lean on your expertise and provide useful guidance and feedback to the engineers and the rest of the team, ensure your direct reports are set up for success
- Ensure the technical performance of the product meet our standards
- Contribute to a positive development culture and create a safe and inclusive environment for all

Must haves...
- Professional experience in building, leading and managing software development teams for mobile applications with a successful track record of shipping multiple products/games
- Strong mobile experience (iOS Swift) and deep understanding of hardware and platform limitations, performance metrics, etc.
- Excellent understanding of software engineering fundamentals (design patterns, architecture at scale, maintainability over time, robust API design, etc.)
- Expert iOS development knowledge with iOS Swift
- Experience driving and leading the technical execution of long term projects (6 months+) within an interdisciplinary team
- Experience managing and developing people (driving 1:1s, doing follow ups, etc.)
- Applied knowledge of software engineer best practice and multiple software development methodologies. e.g. Scrum, Kanban
- Knowledge of Software Architecture (e.g. VIPER, RIBS)
- Analytical problem solving skills
- Strong understanding of UI and UX with a keen eye for details
- Experience with testing frameworks and Test Driven Development
- Good understanding of mobile submission processes
- Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change
- Proficient in the use of source control solutions such as GIT
- Strong understanding of CI/CD processes
- Proficient communicator including in cross-discipline conversations
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and teamwork skills
Nice to haves...
- Experience working on F2P mobile games from concept to LiveOps and an understanding of the challenges involved in maintaining, iterating and scaling a game
- Solid understanding of mobile networking best practices (e.g. batching, request caching, request aggregation, etc.)
- Experience implementing and maintaining 3rd parties SDKs (e.g. Facebook, Firebase, etc.)
- Experience with industry-standard bug reporting software such as JIRA
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
- A passion for games, including mobile
