Lead Writer
As the games division of Bad Robot Productions (Lost, Cloverfield, Westworld, Star Wars, Star Trek), we at Bad Robot Games are on a mission to continually reinvent how stories are played.
We are a remote-first games company represented by a diverse team, which empowers us to make the kinds of games in which all players can see themselves. Working closely with our colleagues at Bad Robot Productions, our projects unite our extensive network of games, TV, and film industry talent to create original IPs, expansive worlds and tell new stories across all media platforms which are as fun to watch as they are to play.
Bad Robot Games is looking for a Lead Writer to realize a bold and funny cast, create high stakes and plot a journey through an unforgettable world filled with mystery and revelation.
Are you bursting with new ideas for things nobody else has done - but you know how to do? Do others consider you witty? Do you go to sleep with one eye on the latest media trends? Do you excite and inspire all those wonderful devs you work with? Can you produce compelling, economic voiceovers as effortlessly as you draft meaningful lore without sending the aforementioned devs to sleep? Have you proven this in exciting, innovative titles that challenged the norm? How about authenticity, originality, diversity - do those figure in somewhere meaningful? And do you like endless questions? Do you? If the answer is ‘yes’ to at least some of these questions, let’s talk!
We’re on a quest to build a world-class narrative team that does things nobody has ever done before. Are you in?
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Mentor and support the development of others.
- Collaborate with the Bad Robot Production team to find ways to tell compelling and inventive stories both in and beyond software.
- Navigate seas of uncertainty to ports of success. Break down ambiguous areas of a game into actionable tasks so others can contribute.
- Inspiring communicator who can deliver those great ideas in ways that raise the audience’s heart rate.
- Creative thinker who can imagine possibilities that haven’t existed - and figure out a way to unlock a team to get to them.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in game narrative development or analogous creative role.
- One or more shipped titles with compelling characters which you helped shape.
- Leadership experience.
- Positive, energetic attitude.
BONUSES
- Direct experience creating quality narratives in other media beyond gaming. What else have you made?
- Skills with character development beyond literary, including visual design, costuming, performance and animation.
- Self-starter who anticipates what’s coming and gets ahead of it.
