The Role @ Sumo Group
Working from our Sheffield studio, you’ll be part of the UK’s leading Video Games company creating video content and motion graphics from inception to completion for a wide range of channels.
As part of the Group Marketing department, working with multiple stakeholders, you’ll lead a small team of video editors, and bring a creative flair, strong narrative skills and technical experience ensuring the delivery of work that makes both you and all at Sumo Group proud.
The successful candidate will be very hands-on, an experienced and talented Video Editor with a portfolio to show it. You will be able to multi-task efficiently, working well under pressure in fast-paced environments. You will bring an enthusiastic and energetic attitude to teams around you.
In this role you will:
- Create all of Sumo Group’s video assets. From internal communication content, social media campaigns, strategic marketing assets, website content, game trailers, teasers, educational and learning tools and live streaming.
- You will have a track record of successfully leading and motivating a team, with experience in a senior role as Video Editor/producer or a similar level.
- You will be adept at crafting and delivering standout video assets for Sumo Group and all its businesses ‘marketing moments’.
- Creative, imaginative, and bold, you’ll embrace new ideas and ways of working.
- You will have a track record of delivering original and compelling video assets across multiple platforms, with an ability to balance the differing needs of stakeholders.
- Live action video production, sound and lighting, video editing and audio mixing, streaming.
- You will thrive being part of a fast paced and dynamic team that consistently delivers to the highest standards.
To be succesful you will have:
- 8-10 years’ of proven video editing experience, preferably in a marketing / entertainment / video game environment.
- A strong creative eye, coming forward with direction and ideas.
- Impeccable organizational and time management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a small team.
- Expert knowledge in Adobe Premiere and After Effects with strong knowledge of the supporting Adobe suite.
- Solid experience in the creation of motion graphics as part of a full video package
- Full understanding and technical knowledge of formats, encoding and transcoding to ensure the best quality for every video.
- Demonstrate excellent skills and practices with audio in video production.
- Occasional sourcing sound effects, music and video assets.
- Solid experience in camerawork, lighting, audio capture and colour grading.
- Expert knowledge of video platforms including YouTube and Twitch, and social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
- A demonstrable love of video games.
- A high level of motivation and proactivity, with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative team environment.
- Collaborator who brings other stakeholders on board with ideas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to own and make decisions with incomplete information.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, work at pace and deliver video to deadline.
