GSN Games is looking for a Lead UI Designer to join our team in Boston!

Do wireframes, user flows, page layout and typography get you all excited? What about playing games? Well, we’ve got the job for you.
GSN is seeking a Lead UI Designer with excellent visual design skills. You'll work with a passionate group of world-class designers, artists, animators, and engineers on a wide variety of web and mobile game products.
About the Role:
- As the right fit, you’ll thrive in a supportive environment that’s low on hierarchy and high on team-based collaboration, feedback, and the creation of fun and joyous experiences. Projects you will work on include mobile, web, and casual games, as well as the visual development of these titles. Responsibilities will include UI design and asset production.
- You’ll mentor and manage junior members of the UI team.
- Work closely with creative, product, and technology teams to conceptualize and prototype user flows.
- You design exceptional UI & UX as well as working product mock-ups, wireframes, user interface elements, and prototypes of key user interface opportunities (such as first time play, tutorialization and progression systems).
- Create UI artwork for high fidelity prototypes to solidify design direction.
- Apply and maintain a consistent art style throughout the entire project interface.
- You are empowered to leverage analytics, user testing, and customer feedback and apply them intelligently into iterative design solutions. You'll then partner closely with other contributing artists and developers to create and implement new features, while updating and refreshing current ones
About You:
The ideal candidate loves design and has a passion for crafting the best experiences for users. This is a position requiring partnership with our creative, product and engineering teams to actualize designs and experiences from wireframes to the final product. The right candidate will look forward to the challenge!
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in the field or related area.
- Experience in mentoring and/or managing junior team members.
- Expert with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, XD).
- Well-versed and proficient with tools, design principles, and industry best practices.
- Cross platform experience (web & mobile).
- Strong artistic background.
- Strong experience with UI.
- Strong experience with UX.
- Bachelor of Arts, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
Bonus Points!
- Passion for making social and casual games a huge plus!
- 3D knowledge and experience with Unity a plus.
- Experience in the refactoring of legacy designs as part of a cross-functional team.
- Developed and maintained an evolving set of design patterns and standards.
- Created design briefs, user flows and wireframes to meet product objectives.
- Has a unique aesthetic sensibility but can draw aspects from any design trend when applicable and use it like a familiar tool.
- Strong understanding of responsive design with examples of work.
- A knack for making delightful, engaging and memorable experiences.
- Uses animation as information and not just window dressing, but can make the best looking window in town.
- Takes the time to put that extra shine.
- Knows HTML/CSS very well and won't get lost in the woods when exposed to JavaScript or Object Oriented Programming.
- Participated in iterative usability tests in parallel with feature development.
- Likes pen and paper as much as any digital tool.
- Expanded your skillset to include mobile web experience.
