Summary
Product Madness is looking for a Lead UI Artist to join our Montreal-based studio. The Lead UI Artist will oversee and own UI designs for our new genre-bending social casino app built in Unity. This role collaborates closely with UX, Art Direction, FX, Game Design, Engineering, and Production. Establish and re-evaluate UI production pipeline best practices. The Lead UI Artist should possess exceptional art/design skills, adept understanding of Unity and user interface asset integration pipelines.What you'll do
- Create high-fidelity mockups that support gameplay feature flows
- Creation and implementation of high-quality UI assets, based on defined look and feel.
- Combine strong UI design skills with a UX mindset
- Maintain, update and own UI style guides and documentation
- Provide feedback to other Visual Designers, Tech Artists and engineers on UI design.
- Partner with Tech Art and Engineering to instill and support UI integration best practices
- Proactively engage in ongoing feature development through constant communication with discipline leads and stakeholders
- Management and mentorship of more junior UI Designers on the project through skills development and goal setting.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of game development experience, 1+ year in Lead role
- Portfolio demonstrating in-depth UI design examples and process
- Excellent Visual Design and Illustration skills
- A clear understanding of art optimization, game and engine constraints
- Expert in Unity, Adobe CC, and other industry design and prototyping tools
- Comfortable planning and estimating UI effort for projects
- Professional experience working on in-production as well as live titles

- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and independent self-direction
- Experience owning and leading project deliverables for yourself and team, while enabling other voices to have an impact on the outcomes
- Ability to present concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, stakeholders
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills (verbal and written)
- A highly-collaborative, creative, and innovative spirit
- Experience, hiring, mentoring, and nurturing teams
- Experience with graphic design or art direction
- A passion for UI design and UX methodologies
- Adept at task management & tracking, advanced use of tools like Confluence & Jira
