What We Do
The Unreal Engine is a dense web of technologies merging to create the best creative 3D experiences in the world. At the heart of understanding that tech is the Unreal Engine Documentation.
The Unreal Engine Documentation team is responsible for publishing educational and reference material to provide knowledge and confidence for thousands of users. This includes improving existing documentation, documenting new features, and identifying gaps to fill to improve our depth and completeness.
What You'll Do
We're looking for a Lead Technical Writer to join the Unreal Engine Documentation team.
You will step into a leadership role where you can influence the careers of other writers reporting to you. You will play a critical role in creating a balance of leadership and your individual contributions in a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals. You will have the opportunity to continue to sharpen your Technical Writing skills by adding your own content to the Unreal Engine documentation. This role involves building relationships with other writers and subject matter experts in the Product team, and demonstrating your ability to communicate complicated concepts to experts in the fields of gaming, automotive and engineering, virtual production, and more.
In This Role You Will
- Be responsible for the growth and progression of Technical Writers reporting to you, including setting targets and providing feedback
- Learn an area of the Unreal Engine and become the expert for communicating how it functions
- Balance your own deliverables with the responsibilities of leading your team
- Work with Documentation leadership to evolve the team and the documentation product
What We're Looking For
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated Technical Writing ability
- Experience with real time 3D engine
- A passion for the details
This position is open in multiple locations across North America and Europe including: Austin, Seattle, Vancouver and London.
