Lead Technical Animator

Duration: Full Time

Location: Liverpool or Remote

We're looking for a Lead Technical Animator to work with our Technical Animation/ Rigging and Production team on an exciting new console title. You will be responsible for managing, driving and reviewing the Tech Animation production for the title and ensuring it is delivered on time and to the right quality. We're looking for a talented production focused Technical Animator with a strong track record in games and with great creative and technical ability.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with the content and programming teams to develop and maintain animation pipelines by:

• Work with other disciplines to establish technical guidelines for animation content in the game.
• Ensure that all work created by the internal animation team and our outsource partners meet the technical requirements of the title.
• Ensure that all creative character teams have the tools required to do their work as efficiently as possible.
• Work closely with the production team to help them create realistic schedules for the Technical Animation team.
• Mentor other members of the Technical Animation and wider creative team to ensure they maintain best practices, processes, and procedures.

Required Experience

• Experience as a senior or management role on shipped PC or Console titles within a Character/ Animation focused team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and tutoring skills.
• Extensive knowledge of art and animation systems and pipelines within games.
• Proficiency in Maya, Motionbuilder or equivalent DCC.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Mel.

Desired Experience

• Experience on AAA console games.
• Experience with UE5 character systems such as Control Rig, IK Rig.
• Knowledge of various motion capture solutions.
