Atomic Arcade is a brand-new video game development studio located in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area led by industry veterans from AAA game and film studios. We are in the process of staffing up our development team with outstanding talent to build our first multi-platform, AAA game - a bold, new take on the GI JOE Universe starring the legendary character Snake Eyes! This is an excellent opportunity to not only build an outstanding AAA experience but to also help form the core foundations for the studio and team to build upon. We are looking for a skilled Lead Systems Engineer to lead various initiatives such as platform compatibility, rendering technology, and tools. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader, with deep knowledge of developing cross-platform AAA games, who wants to work with all teams to build a truly outstanding gaming experience.
What You'll Do:
- Help build and lead a team of great Engineers.
- Build and maintain compatibility with major console and PC platforms.
- Coordinate the development of tools from art workflows, to crash reporting, to build distribution
- Empower your team to successfully support them in hitting their goals.
- Ensure budgets are maintained and that we're hitting target metrics across all platforms.
- Mentor other Engineers on the team.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong leadership skills.
- The ability to identify and tackle large and sophisticated problems creatively without mentorship.
- Expertise with C++ and C# programming languages.
- Extensive experience workings with large multiplatform engines.
- A strong desire to do things "the right way".
- Initiative to push boundaries to build something outstanding.
- Unreal Engine experience.
- Experience with giving and receiving feedback.
- Experience multi-tasking and adapting easily to change.
- Passion for making and playing games.
- Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented; must have the ability to interact and collaborate with all departments and teams.
- Self-sufficient and self-motivated, can perform duties with little oversight.
