Job Description:
We are seeking a systems architect to lead Magic Leap’s current- and next-generation product architecture. The Lead Systems Architect is responsible for the high-level architecture and intra components integration, design, and success of major product component. This challenging role requires innovation and thought leadership to bring novel low-latency, high-fidelity systems to market. This is an influential role in the Systems Engineering team, driving requirements and implementation across Magic Leap many groups.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and ensure the success of the entire pixel pipe from motion to photon.
- Architect pixel-pipeline to optimize for low latency, integrated calibration, image warping, photometric correction, power efficiency, color uniformity, etc.
- Key multidisciplinary point-of-contact at Magic Leap for all things pixel-pipeline related.
Qualifications:
- Experience with the entire pipeline of Mixed Reality devices
- Experience with platform level architecture design
- Experience with light field generation architecture
- Experience with user sensing
- Experience with display and projector systems and technology
- Experience with digital image processing and enhancement algorithms
- Experience with components (display, camera…) calibration
- Multi-disciplinary, team-oriented leader who writes clear specs and understands manufacturing design-constraints
- Experience with Matlab, Python
- Proven Experience with C, C++, C#
- Great communication (verbal and written) skills
- Ability to think critically and solve problems outside of core knowledge domain
- Strong preference for having shipped applications on an embedded product or having k nowledge of modern game engine graphics pipelines is a plus
- Deep knowledge of rendering concepts such as level-of-detail, lighting, shadow generation, reflection, and post-processing is a plus
- Experience with GPU optimization for increased frame-rate and reduced latency is a plus
- Experience in OpenGL and/or other low level graphics language is a plus
- Experience with perception algorithm is a plus
Education:
- Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent engineering degree) plus 4 or more years of working experience or equivalent industry experience.
