Who we’re looking for:

You’re ready to take the next step in your Software Engineering career, with a strong focus on Data - to a fast-moving, successful company building out their next-generation data services backend! You have backend engineering experience but also love data and helping the business leverage it for decision making. You consider yourself scrappy and a technologist, passionate about software and distributed systems... with your attention to detail and insistence on doing things correctly, you know you can make a big impact on any team! You’re an excellent communicator and know that you grow faster from being able to mentor others.

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as a Technical Lead contributing to the development efforts of the Data team
• Build scalable and maintainable RESTful services that enable the Data team to expose data-as-a-service to various backend systems
• Building data toolkits and APIs for integrating backend services
• Build new systems to provide high-volume, fault-tolerant, and scalable real-time event processing systems based on distributed system architecture
• Support our data science team in deploying new services to expose trained models for matchmaking, fraud, and cheat detection
• Work on a distributed system throughout its life-cycle - research, design, development, testing, CI / CD, maintenance and operations
• Mentor, coach, collaborate, and lead team members to improve their weekly contributions and help in their career development

Your Skillz:

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in object-oriented programming using Java, Scala, or Go
• Experience building cloud-native RESTful web services, Spring Boot is a plus
• Experience working with large scale distributed system architectures and microservice patterns
• Experience with cloud-based datastore technologies such as RDS, Redis, DynamoDB including design and optimization
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers is a huge plus
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and solve the complex problems that distributed, scalable systems introduce

Bonus:

• Experience building services on top of serverless microservice architecture
• Strong experience writing automated test suites (unit, functional, and integration)
• 3+ years experience on Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform
• Experience working with Spark Streaming, Storm, Flink, Kafka, or other Stream Processing technologies
• 2+ years of experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Hive, or Redshift
• Familiarity with Agile software engineering practices
• Prior experience in gaming, finance or Ad Tech
