We are seeking a Lead Senior Software Engineer in Test to help identify, implement and support various quality efficiency tools and test automation for the project while partnering with our quality as well as development team.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is either Austin, TX or Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to establishing and delivering the quality strategy for a product based on the ideal blend of automation and manual testing
- Drive identification, design and delivery for technical solutions (frameworks, tests, API hooks, tools) increasing test effectiveness and coverage, while reducing the cost of test execution
- Partner closely with development technical directors and test managers to align on automation and tools initiatives
- Determine resource needs for the team based on identified strategy; drive hiring needs, and manage new team members when they join the team
- Implement metrics, analyze test data and results to identify patterns, report on risk status to development partners, and influence software quality
- Share insights, solutions, and best practices within the team and across Blizzard
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, tools developer or similar technical role with focus on quality
- Solid understanding of test methodologies, including automation, functional, qualitative, and performance testing against consistently iterative development
- Strong, proven programming skills in C++ and/or C#.
- Experience with software architecture and debugging methodology
- Experience with Xunit or other testing frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to confidently collaborate with senior dev engineers on technical topics and features
Pluses
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in a technical role on game development team focusing on quality or tools
- Experience working with solutions that utilize multiple programming languages
- Experience with enterprise software automation solutions
- Experience with automation for consoles
- Experience with databases
- Ability to create data analysis tools and interpret large data sets
- Passion for video games

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
