The Position

Avalanche Studios Group and its creative division Systemic Reaction are now looking for a Lead Programmer to join a top-tier development team working for an unannounced title being developed in Stockholm.

As Lead Programmer, it will be your job to collaborate closely with the project leaders and game designers to turn designs, features, improvements and other cool new ideas into manageable tasks that can be worked on by the programming team. To do this successfully, part of the job will be a managerial one: assigning work, giving input and feedback, performing reviews, making calls on direction and working with production on estimates and planning. You must be prepared to also work in all areas of the code for the project and engine, developing and maintaining the systems necessary for designers to create missions, build complex gameplay mechanics and tweak and balance the game.

Required Qualifications

Beneficial Experience

To thrive in a programming position at Avalanche Studios, you need to be willing and have the ability to learn new tools and workflows. You have a positive attitude and contribute to a healthy team dynamic by seeing opportunities and highlighting limitations in a constructive way.

You can communicate to clearly establish common goals and align expectations. You are ambitious and are interested in pushing the boundaries of our user experience but can also skillfully balance this with the realities and constraints of the situation at hand.
