Lead Programmer (UI focus) [Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege] (f/m/d)

Job Description
The Lead Programmer role is to support/mentor a programming team to ensure the success of the game. You collaborate with related departments to define optimal workflows that will help team to build the best game possible.
You will guide and support a 4-5 programming team (UI, Generalist and Backend programmers) part of a wider multidisciplinary features team (Production, Game Design, User Experience, User Interface, Programming, QA). You will work closely with other disciplines bring to life the team’s vision, ensuring visual and technical quality of the features developed.
We aim at having Leads that are good people managers, yet also contribute towards the engineering/programming craft.
What you will do:
- Help your team members to grow and learn, with direct reporting and participation in the hiring process.
- Foster the collaboration between the different departments.
- Help define the roadmap and tasks break down and handling for the programming department.
- Contribute to UI code implementation, creating and updating UI components to meet the intent of the game’s design and flow also using your expertise to help colleagues make informed choices.
- Creating layouts for UI Artists and Designers to work in.
- Debugging and profiling code on multiple platforms.
Qualifications
What you bring:
- Shipped at least 1 AAA title as a UI Artist to have a good understanding of game production constraints.
- Previous professional experience, in the capacity of Lead and UI Programmer roles.
- Strong Programming skills in C++.
- Good understanding of UX/ UI design principles and ability to think user centric.
- Pro-activity, self-motivation, and organization.
Bonus points for:
- Knowledge of wider programming areas (Generalist, Backend).
- Knowledge of 1st parties’ compliance and requirements.
- Experience with platforms where performance/bandwidth restrictions exist.
