Overview
The Lead Product Manager is accountable for the delivery of high-quality online products and services within their program(s). The Lead Product Manager is responsible for defining the vision, building the product strategy, managing stakeholders, prioritizing development features as well as technical risk mitigation and technical debt, and collaborating with Product and Engineering peers on their products. The Lead Product Manager acts as a leader for product value and strategy for their program as well as a manager to Product Managers within the program.
Responsibilities
Product Manager Responsibilities
- Be accountable for delivery of products and services managed within the Lead Product Manager's program(s).
- Interface with Central Technology Group (CTG) leadership and stakeholders across the company to routinely assess and collectively align on the vision for their program(s) and products.
- Collaborates with the Director of Product and other Product Managers to create a 12-24-month product roadmap prioritizing work based upon highest value and customer timelines.
- Defines and improves product management best practices, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the intake, execution, and acceptance of work.
- Provides oversight of program initiative schedules and risk management.
- Ensures all projects have defined project milestones with a clear definition of delivery; assists Producers and Engineering Managers to achieve those dates and communicates deviations to scope/schedule early.
- Inspires and influences the broader team by highlighting contributions and achieving platform objectives.
- Demonstrate how to build consensus and communicate progress across internal stakeholders.
- Develops and performs periodic check-ins on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) which directly contribute to those provided by leadership.
- Acts as a champion for their products, presenting to game studios to spread the knowledge of our solutions and identifies new ways to further add value for the studio and the end user.
- Communicates to different audiences across all levels of the organization and disciplines tailoring their style as appropriate.
General Manager Responsibilities
- Acts as a champion for Agile processes and SAFe Framework
- Establishes formal mentor relationships with senior, mid-level, and associate Product Managers.
- Fosters a safe and professional work environment which encourages teamwork and collaboration.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations utilizing 360-degree / multi-rater feedback including self-assessments.
- Ensures creation and maintenance of Independent Development Plans (IDPs) for each direct report.
- Maintains regular one-on-one meetings with all direct reports.
Qualifications
- Experience with providing publishing and online platform services to video game studios on PC and Console is required as this role provides product management direction for the Integration Program which provides the tools, services and support for video game studios to integrate and administer our CTG services.
- End-to-end knowledge of game development process, pipelines and technology.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and Cloud Computing Platforms preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodologies required.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field or equivalent work experience. Previous software engineering / development experience preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of product management experience.
- Strong creative and organizational leadership skills.
- Exceptional communication skills.
Salary Range
Lead Product Manager - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $145,000 - $225,500 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
