We are looking for an ambitious inspirational Lead Producer to join the Third-Party Production Department here at Team17. Third-Party Production at Team 17 is ‘Service & Customer’ led. We focus on our development partner’s needs, bringing to bear world class talent across all Team 17's departments to ensure they maximise their success at market. Our aim is simple, to build tangible sustainability into their businesses so they can do what they do best, create amazing games!
What You Will Be Working on as a Lead Producer?
As Lead Producer you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a host of diverse and highly talented game developers worldwide, promoting our philosophy of "Your success is our success!". As Lead Producer you will be the figurehead for a team of Producers held within your own Virtual Production Studio (VPS). Your strong leadership will be essential in mentoring and problem solving with the Producers on their projects in addition to running a single project of scale yourself.
Your Day-To-Day
- Direct oversight of a multiplatform product of scale, taking it from initial concept through to release and, if required, live-ops thereafter.
- Accurately reporting of multiple project statuses held within your VPS to the Department Head and wider Team17 stakeholders.
- Collaboration with Developers to create realistic project plans, defining the pillars of the game, pushing risks upfront and plotting key validation points such as the early, mid and late game loops for user testing etc.
- Running your VPS daily Producer scrums and tracking lingering or urgent issues for escalation.
- Working with your team individually through 1-1s to ensure they are prioritising and assigning themselves the right goals to keep their projects on track.
- Reviewing your VPS’s project milestone reports and verifying that Producer cited development statuses are fair and accurate for signoff.
- Proactively problem solve your direct team’s project Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies to clear a path for both developers and Team17 stakeholders to maintain traction.
- Maintain (and teach where necessary) the highest Project Management standards within your VPS; enabling monitoring and efficient balancing of a product’s quality, budget and timeline to a commercially successful outcome.
- Mentorship and supporting your team’s career progression and where necessary recruiting new talent into your expanding VPS
- Principal contribution to the ongoing Product Due Diligence process in support of our Game Scouting Team.
- Active participation in various workshops to drive new processes and efficiency improvements within the Department.
What You'll Need
- Demonstrable long-term successful experience in Production within the games industry across all current platforms.
- Good knowledge of multiplayer cross-play gaming, game server <> client & P2P architecture and live-ops. Technical knowledge in this area is an advantage (inc. Analytics and KPIs)
- Emotional intelligence, with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate those around them through immaculate written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and be highly adept at gaining, executing and owning timely decisions; both singularly and as part of a team.
- A ‘Hands on’ approach and be able to stretch and operate across Production from base, up to Executive Level
- To be highly effective at creating and mapping out clarity when faced with uncertainty.
- Mental agility in keeping multiple plates spinning at once whilst keeping a keen eye on the longer term prize and “making it happen!”
- Modern Project Management methodologies including Agile; preferably certified
- The ability to lead a team of producers, some remote, hybrid and contract located around the world whilst ensuring they remain cohesive and feel a sense of inclusivity and support.
- Sound knowledge of business operations and mechanics: marketing, intellectual property, contracts, cashflow forecasting, capex / opex, running a P&L etc.
- Entrepreneurial attitude, with the ability to inspire this valued trait in others around you to the benefit of all.

The Interview Process
The interview process for the Lead Producer role is made up of 2 stages, here is what each will be focused on:
- Stage 1 (60 minutes) – Initial introductions and Production knowledge
- Stage 2 (60 minutes) – Culture, business acumen and leadership
