Jagex is looking for a Lead or Principal Graphic Designer to join its fast-paced creative services team to spearhead the creation of their art assets across multiple games and media.

Working within our busy in-house design team, you will be responsible for designing a variety of work including digital advertising, video assets, print, logos, icons, web design, aftereffects animation and other art assets. You will act as a key creative contact within the department, working closely with team members with different creative skillsets and key project stakeholders across the company.

This highly rewarding & creative role will suit an experienced Graphic Designer with at least 8 years’ experience looking for a new challenge. The successful candidate should have an exceptional portfolio clearly demonstrating their creative design talents and at least 2 years’ experience in a creative leadership role.

We are currently happy to see applications for either a Lead or Principal role. In both roles you are expected to be a master of your craft, to champion design within the department providing direction and creative leadership to the team around you and stepping up in the absence of your art director. As a lead you would also take online management responsibilities for a small team of graphic designers looking after their personal and professional well-being. Alternatively, as a principle you would instead be focused purely on pushing the creative output of yourself and the team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designing high quality, public facing art assets across different media.
• Acting as a mentor and leader to the other artists in the team.
• Delivering clearly communicated creative feedback to other artists in the team.
• Working closely with Artist, UX designers, Web Developers and various other skillsets.
• Working from a brief, from concept to final launch.
• Following multiple product brand guides.
• Working closely with creative directors and product stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in the use of Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• A good eye for color, typography, design and composition.
• Ability to show good initiative, judgement and excellent attention to detail.
• Good leadership qualities and the ability and patience to share your knowledge with others.
• Experience of working on multiple projects to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
