Lead Network Engineer

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a solid and hands-on Lead Network Engineer to join a highly qualified team of Network Engineers. This position requires working with other engineering teams across Blizzard and our partners ensuring our games, online services, and corporate services maintain SLA of 99.999% or above. The successful candidate will be responsible for network design and operations support activities, such as maintenance and installation of routers, switches, access points, wireless LAN controllers and third-party applications hardware and software. The successful candidate will also lead major projects and be a source of reference for other network engineers and will participate in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
• Attract, hire, mentor and level up top talents of the Network Engineers.
• Ensure that infrastructure is operational and meeting the needs of Blizzard always.
• Ensure that all services provide accurate and effective telemetry.
• Deploy and maintain production network infrastructure.
• Respond to and resolve live service issues including following-the-sun rotation and on-demand for severe outages.
• Work with global technical teams and management team on optimizing network services.
• Investigating/researching new technologies including software and hardware-based on operational requirements.
• Build up strong communication channel with global team.
Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years IT/Internet work experience, gaming company preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of H/W architecture of various Network Hardware from Cisco, Juniper, A10 or Arista.
• Extensive experience with network protocols including EIGRP/OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VXLAN.
• Superior troubleshooting skills and proven experience in past work.
• Unrelenting champion of service availability and reliability to ensure 99.9% uptime.
• Good experience on one of the following IOS/IOS-XR/NX-OS/Junos.
• Expert-level network certification. (CCIE, JNCIE, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge about TCP/IP and Linux.
• Experience with network monitoring tools.
• Knowledge and experience with various on-premise cloud technologies, SDN, Public Cloud offering, etc.
• Passionate gamer and in-depth knowledge of Blizzard games, products, and services.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Exceptional ability to lead, inspire, and develop people.
• Comfortable working in a fast pace high demand work environment.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
