We are looking for someone like you to become our all-new Lead Mobile Application Developer and join our passionate and talented Web team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.
The role:
The Lead JavaScript Developer will be responsible for securing and enhancing our mobile-friendly web applications built on VueJS. Taking a degree of ownership and working with the existing team to take our apps to the next level of reliability and functionality. You will work closely with publishing and marketing stakeholders to agree development priorities and work with other parts of the web team to improve build processes, code reusability and automated testing coverage. As part of the Web team, you will play a key role in streamlining and unifying the customer experience across platforms.
The successful applicant will have considerable experience in front-end web applications. You will be able lead the development of Rebellion’s Mobile applications and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Enhancing and maintaining the existing Comic Reader mobile apps
- Actively participating in architecture development, planning and build for new projects and features
- Reviewing peer code and proactively adding issues and improvements to the development backlog
- Working with the DevOps engineers to improve the level of automation in the existing build and deployment processes
- Work to project deadlines and pro-actively communicate actual and potential issues and progress blockers
- Mentor other team members and foster a positive team culture
Requirements
Required:
- 5+ years’ experience in a front-end development role
- Experienced building robust and reliable JavaScript MPAs (VueJS experience desirable)
- Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks (ideally Jest)
- Able to produce and maintain high quality code
- Outstanding analytical skills and ability to communicate any problems and solutions encountered
- Approachable and able to teach and assist other team members
- Good time-management, self-motivated and able to motivate others
- Able to work on your own initiative and within a team environment
Desirable:
- Experience of Cordova/PhoneGap
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience of leading team stand-ups, code reviews and retrospective
