We’re looking for an experienced game designer to work alongside a passionate group of designers, programmers, and artists to help bring exciting live-game events to Diablo IV!
The Lead Live Event Designer is responsible for guiding a small multidisciplinary team focused on creating fun, limited-time activities for players to participate in. They will also collaborate with partners in analytics, product management and live operations to help ensure that we are delivering the most engaging and exciting content possible.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in game design, strong critical thinking and analysis abilities, outstanding people skills, boundless creativity and an extensive knowledge of live service games.

Responsibilities
- Work with live design leadership, production and partners to set direction for live events in Diablo IV
- Lead a cross-disciplinary group of developers focused on delivering exciting live events to our community
- Identify challenges with gameplay mechanics, game content, and workflow processes and find creative solutions
- Provide mentoring and clear, detailed feedback to developers on content requirements and needs
Requirements
- 6+ years game development experience in a design role
- Extensive experience developing or playing action RPG titles
- Deep understanding of player motivations and session loops within online games
- Able to communicate effectively with developers and key partners across a variety of teams
- Outstanding self-motivation and initiative

- Experience successfully leading teams of developers
- Prior work experience or education in (non-design) fields: art, programming, production, or sound
- Experience working on a game in a live environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of the Diablo IP
- A familiarity with scripting languages such as lua
