Lead Level Designer (Remote)

Established in 2004, Lakshya Digital, a Keywords Studio, is the largest interactive entertainment and game development services studio in South Asia with leadership studios around the world.

Our continued success is fueling the need to expand and we are looking for top-quality talent to become part of our studio in Bothell, WA. We are looking for a talented Lead Level Designer to work hands-on with an established studio and IP, to prototype new gameplay types and unique level designs, using existing content, for a highly acclaimed and established Battle Royal game.

Our client is in the Seattle WA area and the successful candidate must be able to collaborate in real-time with our clients in their time zone. Some on-site work may be required for this role.

As a Lead Level Designer, you will be an important part of our development team, supporting our efforts as we create and deliver the highest quality solutions possible for our clients.

Some of the cool stuff you'll be doing:

• Prototype new gameplay modes and levels using existing content in Unity
• Document, communicate, and collaborate on ideas directly with our client
• Optimize, test and debug levels and ensure it performs within established budgets and gameplay framework
• Collaboration with other departments as needed to ensure results that meet or exceed client requirements
• Oversee the efforts of other level designers, providing feedback, direction, and guidance
• Manges the level designers, performing regular one on ones, career development goals
• Manage and maintain work and documentation in JIRA and Confluence

Requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

• 8+ years’ experience in game design, with a focus on end-to-end level design
• Detail-oriented, capable of establishing budgets, and schedules and driving a team to deliver on those commitments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present ideas and solutions to a team of stakeholders
• Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in real-time on the West Coast
• Strong technical skills, able to modify existing gameplay mechanics to achieve new results
• Self-directed, capable of working directly with our client and other team members to drive solutions
• Experience managing, and leading, creative teams in the game development industry
• Ability to work with both proprietary and industry-standard tools to develop unique and compelling levels utilizing existing content

Bonus points!

• Experience with or a passion for Battle Royal games
• Experience in other game development roles - production, engineering, QA
• VR experience will be helpful for this role
