The Overwatch team is looking for an accomplished designer to lead our amazing hero team!

Overwatch is defined by its Heroes. And we're in the distinct position to look for an incredible designer to join our team and help define the future of unique gameplay.

We are searching for a lead designer with a passion for creating compelling yet simple gameplay. You're driven by accessibility and simplicity and excel at coming up with various player archetypes, both villain and hero. You have experience in designing remarkable characters and player abilities. You have the knowledge to create memorable heroes that are outstanding in their identity and gameplay. You can drive your design from creation to implementation and balance, as well as bug fixing. You adapt and align with the project fantasy and think of the user experience in everything you do. You are passionate about video games, knowledgeable about Overwatch, and are excited to contribute to the overall success of the game!

But most importantly, you want to share your experience with others, helping mentor them and guide them to create an amazing experience.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a gameplay or combat designer.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skilled in defining and giving direction as well as feedback.
• Open to feedback from the team as well as other disciplines.
• Possess the ability to keep the team iterating quickly and knowing when to continue to push designs.
• Self-motivated and driven to grow and learn, as well as help those around you do the same.
• Strong problem-solving skills and game design philosophies with a focus on simplicity and impactful gameplay.
• Passion for video games, especially the shooter genre.
  

Pluses

• Education or experience in CS.
• Extensive development experience in the shooter genre and/or multiplayer coop games, especially with a focus on class or player character design.
• Prior work experience or education in other (non-design) fields: art, programming, production, or sound.
• Love and knowledge of Overwatch.
