LEAD GAMES TESTER

Miniclip is looking for a Lead Games Tester to hire in our Games Development Studio in Tagus Park (Oeiras, Portugal). This is a full-time, permanent position.

Miniclip Quality Assurance acts as a quality gauge during development, testing not only the product, but the processes used to create the product. As a Lead Games Tester, you will thus be responsible for leading a sub-team of games testers, guaranteeing that both our processes and software products meet the most rigorous quality requirements.

Dutties

Your primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Leading, coaching, mentoring and be the line manager of a group of QA Testers .
  • Be responsible for understanding their limitations and strong points and create their development plan, aligned with the company's strategic priorities and department goals .
  • Work closely and discuss ideas with the other Lead Games Testers and the QA Lead do ensure that the team keeps developing their technical and personal skills .
  • Ensure that the testing methodologies and strategies your direct reports use in their mobile product teams are up-to-date and ever evolving .
  • Promote and support the development and maintenance of test automation with your direct reports and their mobile product teams .
  • Promote stable and up-to-date regression testing, so that the confidence of the software during release times are as high as possible .
  • Going beyond your role to help unblocking impediments and reduce silo by creating software together with other specialisations in the Agile team .
  • Deep understanding of Agile product development process serving short release cycles.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate should have most, if not all, of the following skills:

Soft Skills:

  • Proven experience as a team lead, with good interpersonal, coaching and leadership skills .
  • Good judgement skills and assertive, even during difficult situations .
  • Good capability of communicating with technical and non-technical people .
  • Driven to continuously improve quality inside the team, processes, and strategies .
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English is necessary) .
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills .

Technical skills:

  • Strong technical background in testing software, specially in an Agile environment .
  • Thorough understanding of testing processes, standards, methodologies, and tools .
  • Understanding of a mobile development cycle, from feature creation, passing through development of the feature, submission to the stores, soft launch, global launch, and then live ops .
  • Experience in test automation, Unity or C# is a plus .
