What You’ll Do:
Every day you’ll work directly with a world-class team to create beautiful, industry-leading products that push the envelope in the mobile games space. You’ll manage, coach and develop a team of incredibly talented, dynamic, and wonderful Designers. You'll create and implement exciting and compelling designs under the leadership of the Creative Director and in close collaboration with the development team. You will be responsible for feature designs and the underlying systems within those designs, as well as overall gameplay. You’ll help realise the player journey and help define and fine-tune player progression and game balancing. You will:
- Teach, grow, develop and collaborate with a team of brilliant game designers
- Work in partnership with the Creative, Design, Product, Production, QA and Tech teams to deliver the highest quality player experience
- Review and iterate on design documentation
- Help create and implement game features and help balance and maintain those features
- Prototype and implement core gameplay mechanics and content
- Introduce and champion major new game design initiatives
- Maintain and improve the health of the game through feature development, quality assurance, listening to feedback and fine-tuning
- Prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines and achieve key milestones
- Understand and advocate for our players in all aspects of game design and gameplay
- Work well with all other members of the team, listening, learning, teaching and enthusiastically being part of a team
About You:
You’ll be collaborative, positive and enthusiastic in your approach to making the best quality casual social games out there. You’ll be an experienced designer in the free-to-play mobile game space who can work to deliver on an overarching vision. You’ll be a great mentor, constantly cultivating great ideas from anywhere and you know that great teamwork makes for great game experiences. You have experience working in environments where the groundwork has been laid, but many of the fine points and tertiary features need a creative touch. You also know how to hire the right people to not only raise the bar for the team, but maintain the team's selfless culture. You’ll be a leader, have a passion for people and their development and embody the ethos of continuous improvement. You’ll have:
- A positive attitude
- A passion for games and all things game design
- A great feel for systems and balancing - especially in casual, free-to-play mobile games
- A talent for turning direction into fully realised experiences
- 3+ years of experience in a design role
- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
- Shipped at least one title within casual mobile gaming
- A superior understanding of the game development process
- The ability to think logically to break down complex problems
- The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of current game design techniques
- The ability to comfortably communicate to key stakeholders and groups
- Design Sim experience would be an amazing bonus!
