CCP London has an incredible opportunity for a talented individual to lead our design group on an unannounced online, multiplayer shooter.
As an experienced Lead Game Designer, you'll bring strong design and tuning skills and will be excited to join a highly motivated team of programmers, artists, designers, and QA who are working to building a varied and unique user experience for the game.
We are a small team in the early stages of development, so this is a unique opportunity to make a big impact. As the Lead, you’ll be naturally ‘hands-on’ and work closely with our Creative and Art Leads to understand the overall vision of the game. You will ultimately be responsible for a team of system, technical, mission, and level designers and be responsible for reviewing their deliverables.
Your Tasks:
- Maintain a clear and concise Game Design overview for the project
- Clearly communicate design changes to production and the rest of the team
- Incorporate feedback from Live Ops and Production teams that are consistent with the vision
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of system, technical, mission, and level designers
- Work with monetization team to integrate monetization designs into core mechanics
- Ensure quality and timely delivery of documentation, levels, UI changes, gameplay tuning, and balancing
- Ensure that the scope of work meets the needs of the feature teams and that the required work meets the velocity for your team members
- Work with the analytics team to establish metrics needed to monitor gameplay performance and balance
- Ultimately be responsible for driving high-quality feature implementation within the game vision and desired game “feel”.
Your Profile:
- Shipped a minimum of 1 game title as a lead, on an online shooter Demonstrable experience of game design, with a thorough understanding of design documentation
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical, tuning, level design, AI design, and balance issues
- Solid understanding of game production design process and methodology
- A demonstrable analytical and iterative approach to solving design problems
- Comfortable being hands-on.
Desirable Skills:
- Multiplayer shooter design experience
- Tactical Shooter experience
- Solid understanding of monetization Design
- Experience working on a game in live operations
- Experience with scripting tools or languages
- Experience with UE4, especially blueprints.
