Lead Environment Artist

What We Need:

Firaxis Games is looking for a talented Lead Environment Artist to work on one of our upcoming projects. As a Lead Environment Artist, you will be working closely with the Art Director and Lead Concept Artist to establish the visual look and feel of the project. This candidate should have a balance of creativity, a strong ability to lead a team and the technical skills to create assets with the latest trends. By working closely with the Art Director, you will lead the task for identifying and communicating a high-quality visual style.

What You Will Do:

· Work closely with the Art Director in establishing a visual style and quality standard for a new franchise.

· Lead, task, mentor, and conduct one-to-one meetings with your Environment Artists.

· Champion standard processes and advocate towards streamlining tools and processes.

· Supply creative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development.

· Provide timely, thoughtful feedback to Environment team to ensure assets are stylistically cohesive and aligned with established artistic and technical quality bars.

· Connect with outsourcing artist and teams.

Who We Believe Will Be an extraordinary Fit:

You are someone who can lead and further a team of artist in crafting high quality assets that reflect the Art Director’s established styles.

Requirements:

· Strong communication and leadership skills and have experience as a lead on at least one AAA title.

· Have gone through multiple game industry production cycles and shipped titles.

· Strong understanding of game art standards and practices and a desire to learn new trends in asset creation.

· Understanding of form, composition, and distribution and purpose of detail.

· Portfolio must demonstrate your versatility.

· Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a phenomenal team-player.

· A passion for making games.

Nice-to-Haves:

· Strong understanding of PBR and material creation.

· Experience using Unreal Engine.

· Basic level design knowledge.

· A desire for playing a variety of game genres
