Lead Software Engineer (Platform Frontend)

Immutable and StarkWare have partnered to create Immutable X, combining StarkWare's world-class scaling knowledge with Immutable's deep understanding of the NFT space. Immutable X is a next-generation protocol for trading Ethereum NFTs, giving users instant trade confirmation, massive scalability, and no gas fees without compromising user custody. Our goal is to make minting and trading Ethereum NFTs easier than trading traditional digital assets.

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to lead our platform frontend product within Immutable X. You will have full ownership for all consumer-facing components, including our marketplace for in-game assets and our wallet for asset ownership. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will directly drive user engagement working with the Engineering Manager to make large-scale choices about the platform's future technical strategy as a whole.

Here's how you'll contribute:

• Building high-quality features with well-engineered solutions
• Owning the frontend technical designs, architecture and roadmap
• Facilitating collective idealisation, socialising, designing and planning of technical design proposals in the team
• Participating in planning, scoping and product design sessions
• Being the go-to person for the frontend team
• Accelerating integration by designing middleware, tooling and social contracts
• Improving consistency of frontend implementation utilising design system
• Integrate cutting-edge technology into our stack to allow us to remain market-leading

A bit about you:

• Skilled across javascript, typescript, react, redux, CSS/SASS and Nodejs
• Framework and styling experience that enables you to create world-class frontend products
• Can create technical designs from scratch and reviewing those produced by other engineers
• Motivated to deliver a fantastic product to our users
• You take ownership of any problems faced by the team and work effectively to eliminate them
• Able to design solutions with a strategic mindset
• Ability to understand the underlying business objectives, limitations and risks, and identify the appropriate technical solutions and sequencing
• You can balance current speed with future maintainability and composability
• Passionate and keen to learn new technologies and upskill (we can train you on golang, blockchain-related tech and functional programming)

Some extra skills that would be awesome:

• Experience working across functional programming languages like FP-ts and/or Graphql
• Worked across automated visual testing, e2e testing, integration testing
• Can feature toggling, frontend experimentation
• Understanding of Redux-saga Experience with AWS services such as Cloudfront, S3, Lambda Edge, Cloudformation, Route 53 Experience with container/k8s
• Interest in blockchain and/or have built DApps
• Managed frontend CI/CD pipeline and Terraform
