What You'll Do

What will you be doing?

• Lead team of 4-6 data scientists, direct project work of others, provide technical mentorship;
• Plan day-to-day work of Core DS Team, including roadmaps and priorities;
• Develop guidelines for data discovery, data cleansing, transformation and modelling;
• Show a critical approach to modelling and ability to anticipate data and modelling problems;
• Support DS team in developing various predictive and descriptive models, including
• Hands-on work on such models; lead the team by example;
• Lead and perform statistical analysis to validate and test ideas, assumptions, data integrity;
• Recommend best practices for data modelling, analysis and visualisation;
• Run peer and code reviews;
• Collaborate with other DS team members, business intelligence analysts and data engineers on analytical projects;
• Collaborate with key business stakeholders on ongoing and future projects
• Deal with high levels of ambiguity by bringing clarity to the problem and communicating plans toward a solution with both technical and non-technical people;
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and career development for the team from a technical perspective;

What We're Looking For

Below are some of the skills and experience we would love to see from you, we understand you might not have all of the below and we can provide training and development where needed.

• Bachelor/Master/PhD degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or a related discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, etc;
• Deep understanding and knowledge of Machine/Statistical Learning;
• Experience in developing predictive and descriptive models;
• Experience in working with unstructured/semi-structured data to extract functional analytic measures;
• Knowledge of advanced data visualisation techniques to present analysis findings;
• Knowledge of any BI tool, but beware we use Looker (Looker/QuickSight/Tableau/QlikView)
• Experience in leading a team or being a mentor to junior employees
• Experience in writing advanced SQL;
• Experience in developing models in python and deploying them into production;
