Lead, Cyber Specialist, Public Sector

Job Description
ML Horizons is seeking a high energy, personable Lead Cyber Specialist to enable our team to build world-class mixed reality solutions for customers in the government civil, defense, and intelligence sectors. This role will be our “go to” expert for not only internal systems hardening and auditing, but also assisting our customers in their quest to accredit systems using our technology. Qualified candidates need to be a self-starter, which cannot be stressed enough: We are tasked with solving problems that have not been solved before.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for internal cyber hardening
- Perform systems scans and audits, passing results to fellow IT team members for remediation
- Maintain scorecards to show system compliance and highlight “troublemaker” systems
- Review audit logs from critical systems to identify aberrant behavior
- Maintain reporting compliance with the US DoD and other organizations
- Perform postmortem analysis of any potential or actual breach, and provide recommendations for further systems hardening or improvement
- Assist customers in the US DoD and Public Sector with accreditation packages utilizing our technology
- Assist the NSA and DISA with the creation and maintenance of relevant STIGs of Magic Leap technology
- Advise the Magic Leap product team with the unique cyber requirements of the US DoD and other regulated domains of the Public Sector for inclusion in product roadmaps
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in IT systems administration and troubleshooting
- 10+ years experience in cybersecurity hardening and cyber program management
- 5+ years experience supporting Department of Defense customers around the globe
- Experience working with customers in supporting custom solutions in high pressure environments
- Experience with trouble ticketing and CRM systems
- Experience with automated scanning and remediation tools such as Tenable Nessus and SecurityCenter
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to articulate customer issues to engineering teams in an actionable way
- Expert knowledge of the Risk Management Framework and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification processes
- Expert knowledge of the NIST 800 series of cybersecurity requirement documents
- Working knowledge of the STIG development process
Education:
- Advanced industry education and certification such as CISSP highly desired
- Degrees in related fields may be considered in lieu of portions of practical experience required
Additional Information:
- This position may have access to ITAR controlled technical data, or material placed under a security classification or similar restriction by the US Government. As such, this position will require a US Person as defined in the ITAR, and may require the successful completion of a background check for a US Department of Defense security clearance
