Job Description: We're looking for an imaginative Lead Concept Artist to help us bring the magical world of Xadia to life in our new multiplayer game based on the Emmy® Award-winning Netflix series, The Dragon Prince!
As the Lead Concept Artist, you will work in partnership with Art Direction and Production, using your craft expertise, problem solving skills, and eye for design and storytelling to create beautiful concept art that helps deliver a rich and engaging fantasy experience for our players. You will also be responsible for leading a team of in-house and external concept artists, setting clear goals and priorities, meditating and resolving craft disagreements or misalignments, and ensuring that the team's deliverables are of the highest quality and meet overall production goals.

You Will:
- Create original concepts for characters, skins, VFX, props, creatures, and environments
- Collaborate with Production to coordinate concept art resources, aid in task delegation, establish schedules, and develop/enhance systems, tools and processes for the concept pipeline
- Write briefs for concept tasks, and support review cycles to ensure our high quality bar
- Work closely with the outsource manager to ensure clear communication with external concept artists and neighboring art disciplines
- Provide feedback and mentorship to other concept artists on the team, both for executing on a compelling vision for the games we make, as well as helping each to grow and thrive as professionals
- Help to expand the concept team’s capabilities through training and team building, and assisting in candidate recruiting and hiring

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience as a concept artist
- Portfolio demonstrating concept design fundamentals and versatility in both rapid ideation and polished production-ready concepts
- Shipped and supported a game title or similar projects
- Thorough knowledge of art pipelines within a production environment
- Experience with managing agile planning and milestone-based timelines
Desired Qualifications:
- Unreal Engine 4 experience
The annual base pay range for this position in Los Angeles, California is $100,000 USD - $160,000 USD. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and overall experience. In addition to base pay, all full-time positions will receive equity, flexible PTO, unlimited sick leave, parental leave, a full range of medical, dental, and vision insurance, and relocation support as part of the overall compensation package.
