Lead Concept Artist - New Sci-Fi FPS IP

Creative Assembly's award-winning team behind Alien Isolation are exploring new frontiers with a brand new and exciting First-Person Shooter IP.
Creative Assembly is looking for a creative and passionate individual who enjoys working with designers and programmers to translate game design requirements into great user experiences. You will be responsible for the visual communication of information to the player across the game.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, accomplished Visual Designer/Concept Artist to make their mark on the new, undisclosed IP from Creative Assembly’s multi-award-winning team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Concept Artist, you will be an experienced artist who has a highly developed understanding of concept art and visual design. Good organisation, time management and prioritisation skills are key to this role.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Lead a concept team with passion and enthusiasm
- Shape and develop the look of our project
- Support the Art Director and Art Leads (primarily servicing the World and Character departments)
- Consult widely to gather concept requirements, working closely with Production
- Provide effective direction and feedback to experienced artists and mentor developing artists
- Communicate effectively, present ideas confidently and champion the look of the project across the team
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of leading and developing other artists
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates a solid grasp of visual, and concept, design
- An excellent comprehension of composition, colour, and lighting
- A great sense of staging and storytelling in your work, demonstrating mood and tone
- Evidence of the ability to communicate and present ideas effectively
- A self-driven attitude and the ability to receive and provide clear feedback
- A Team player with good communication skills, and a positive outlook
Desirable
- Formal Art training
- Traditional media Art skills
- Proficiency with 3D modelling or sculpting packages
