Following our recent success with "Next Gen" (now on Netflix), Tangent Animation is expanding and looking for a Lead Compositor Artist. If you are seeking to be a part of an exciting project and team-based environment, we’d love to hear from you.
- Responsible for the management and work quality supervision of the compositing team
- Strong ability to rationalize working methods: technical versus artistic demands of work
- Work in partnership with the pipeline team to build efficient workflows and tools.
- Build and lead a team that is motivated and enthusiastic, where there are opportunities for each Compositor to learn and grow.
- Complete or assist with shot work when needed.
- Assists as needed in the management recruitment efforts of the staff
- Liaise closely with VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor and Producer and delegate the projects compositing needs to the team ensuring good continuity and internal communication with the production teams
- Ensure all compositing artist have a clear understanding of their projects scope and deadlines.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years work experience in animation
- Strong sense of composition, light and color theory
- Maintain strong balance between artistic and technical skill, with thorough understanding of Animation workflow
- Strong knowledge of 3D software (Blender, Maya, C4D, 3DS Max) and production ready render engines (Cycles, Arnold, Vray)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to use positive tone and attitude to diffuse conflict, provide solutions, and cultivate a fun and productive working environment
- Developed artistic and precision senses, good eye and mastery of photographic shooting including knowledge of colour, light (reflection, refraction, shadows), perspective, composition and motion.
- Proven experience of Lighting/Rendering/Compositing on CG/VFX productions.
- Experience working with Fusion software preferred.
