Diablo IV is looking for an innovative and experienced Lead Co-Op Activity Designer to help us explore the possibility space for new types of highly difficult and engaging cooperative endgame activities in Diablo IV! Candidates should be passionate about challenging the concept of what a cooperative activity in Diablo IV could mean and have a passion for taking the endgame of Diablo IV to a place our fans have yet to see. This will require a keen eye for aesthetics, boundless creativity, and extensive knowledge of hardcore, strategic social gameplay across all genres of games.
You will be responsible for collaborating with cross team Leads and Directors in establishing a high-level vision of this activity, as well as continuous development of the methods needed to complete that vision. You will be responsible for the supervision of all activity designers, ensuring that our quality and standards are maintained and grown as this feature continues to evolve. The ideal candidate will have proven design experience as a lead, outstanding interpersonal skills as a mentor, and astute critical thinking and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with artists, programmers, designers, and the community to set the gold standard for quality when it comes to Diablo IV cooperative activities
- Provide day to day support and feedback to the designers on the team to ensure that the quality bar is met
- Balance and iterate on the designs based on feedback from leadership, collaborators, playtesting, and community
- Build, assign, & track work vital to deliver a sophisticated activity composed of multiple features
- Works with core tech and tools teams to help prioritize tool requests
- Partner with the Department Manager on career development, goals, and performance reviews for each activity designer
- Building sustainable pipelines for a live service game feature

- Outstanding communication skills, social intelligence, and great interpersonal skills
- Able to self-start and act collaboratively and proactively
- Demonstrable design competence: spatial, mechanical, experiential (pacing/tuning)
- Ability to interoperate creative and innovative ideas into robust gameplay
- Prototyping experience in any medium (Unity, Unreal, In-house engine, Paper, etc.)
- Outstanding analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Previous game development experience crafting large scale content for a live game

- Passionate player of RPG’s and other genres with co-operative end game content
- Game play experience developing across multiple genres
- Knowledge, understanding, and familiarity with Diablo Universe and Lore
