Who You Are:
- Previous Lead Character Art experience in the video games production industry
- Proficient in Unreal 4 workflows and PBR pipelines
- Advanced knowledge of Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
- An extensive portfolio of high-quality characters art assets - including high and low poly models
- Proficient in Unreal 4 workflows and PBR pipelines
- Illustrate mastery over traditional art concepts of human anatomy, weight, color theory, and silhouette
- Strong communication skills and ability to illustrate ideas
- Excel in highly collaborative, feedback driven environments
- Mentor and train less experienced colleagues
- Drive to develop his/her skills, and assist team in their development as well
- Passion for games and game development
- Expertly honed eye for detail
What We Need:
As Lead Character Artist, you will form the next generation of diverse and innovative characters through the creation of high and low poly models. Partnering with the Art Director, Designers, Engineers, and Artists, you will establish pipelines and produce assets that are both beautiful and technically sound. Your ability to adapt in the face of artistic and technical challenges will push the team forward. Your knowledge of form, color, and design will bring life and energy to characters that will be loved by players for years to come. With passion for your craft and attention to detail, you will shape a fantastic new game that you and the team around you can be proud of.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Art Director to drive and maintain high visual quality of character models
- Collaborate with engineers and tech artists to develop an effective character art pipeline
- Mentor the internal and external character teams through verbal and written feedback
- Communicate the visual design and development of the characters through art specifications, style guides and reference material
- Receive and provide art and design feedback based on high level direction
- Deliver feedback to outsourcing partners
- Consistently create high quality Character Art assets that satisfy both artistic and technical requirements.
- Improve your craft through collaboration and self-guided exploration
- Develop art pipeline improvements and disperse knowledge throughout the studio
- Establish and maintain high personal and performance standards among team members
